Thrive

What is Thrive?
Thrive is a trauma-sensitive approach designed to support children’s emotional and social development. Our Thrive Practitioner, Mrs Winters, uses Thrive Online to assess where a child is in their developmental journey. From this, she creates a personalised Action Plan with strategies and activities to help meet their needs.

The Thrive Approach draws on:

  • Child Development Theory

  • Neuroscience research

  • Attachment Theory

  • Creativity and play

The Thrive Model: Child Development Theory
Children move through developmental stages in sequence, meaning they must have their needs met at one stage before progressing to the next. The stages are:

  • Being (the first stage)

  • Doing

  • Thinking

  • Power and Identity

  • Skills and Structure

  • Creativity and Play

Creativity and play are at the heart of Thrive. They help children develop healthy brain function, experience positive emotions, build strong relationships, and strengthen their social and emotional wellbeing.

Mrs Winters works with pupils in both one-to-one and small group sessions. To find out more, please contact Mrs Winters via phone, using the School telephone number: 01722 327218, or by email: sendep@harnham-jun.wilts.sch.uk.
